In this project what we did was our chemistry teacher gave us groups of 3 or 4 we had to research a por or con to debate on and we would have to work together on what we had to do. In class what I learned is about power plants on how they work the nuclear reactions are used to split up the atoms particularly uranium and other atoms. Although nuclear power plants can power many homes, it only takes one simple mistake to ruin the lives of many. Energy is created when fission occurs. Heat is released from the atoms being separated, boiling the water which turns into steam and spins a generator. In the debate it was a good because we had our group together I would ask them what would I say but sometimes I wouldn't know what to say and what can I say and one of my group members would tell me what was going on. Here was 5 questions that we were giving 1. What should be done about the current infrastructure of fossil fuel usage in our society?2. Does nuclear energy help solve the problem of global warming? Why or why not? 3. Do the benefits of nuclear energy outweigh the benefits of renewable energy sources? 4. Will nuclear fission be a limitless solution to our energy needs? 5. If an accident occurs, do the possible negative outcomes outweigh the benefits of nuclear energy?.
CREW DOC
In the document you see here is what me and my group did and we research about what are questions were and if something is a problem with global warming and other things that is happening and if it is a bad thing or a good thing and we would answers them all 5 of them and we would debate on them also crew means that we had to find evidence on were we got it and also were we got it reason on what can we say and we research for the evidence.
Reflection
During this year in chemistry I learned a lot of new things that I didn't know as much and I learned more about the nuclear, fossiel fuels and more. In this project it was a little harder then I thought and I thought it would be easier to research but no it was hard to find every question and it was harder for me because for me it is harder for me to research and to find what is right and what is wrong. I am proud that I tried to research it everything I can and that I learned more about the nuclear and I didn't learn that when I was a another school and I am glad that I learn a lot this year. In this project it was a little bit harder because we only had 4 days to prep and the other team and a lot more time to do it and we had less information on doing it and they had more and I would of had more time. I would do different is that I would have more time on doing this and also I would have less questions.
